Independence statement
State Media owns titles whose value rests on readers trusting their rankings. These are the rules that protect that trust. They apply to GLPInfo.com and to every title we add.
1. Rankings follow published rules
Each title publishes the method behind its comparisons and rankings. The method is applied the same way to every provider, whether or not they advertise.
2. Paid placements are labelled and separate
Sponsored placements are marked as sponsored and shown apart from ranked results. No payment changes where a provider appears in a ranking.
3. Advertisers do not see content before publication
Advertisers and sponsors are not shown rankings, reviews or editorial before they are published and have no right of approval over them.
4. Ownership does not buy a position
Where a company connected to our ownership advertises on a title, it buys the same labelled placement, at the same terms, as any other advertiser, and receives no editorial favour.
5. Corrections are published
When a fact is wrong it is corrected on the page with a note of what changed.
6. Complaints
Anyone who believes a title has broken these rules can write to hello@state.media. We reply within ten working days and publish the outcome where it affects a ranking.
This statement is reviewed against each title's own published rules before launch and whenever those rules change.
